Gram flour is the common term for the wheat flour found in both pasta and bread making. In comparison to the regular flour, gram flour is a bit lighter in color and just less dense in texture. It is made of wheat that is ground up but not dried.

Gram flour is so much easier to make and makes most of the things to be done, especially the bread. It is one of my favorite flour.

Gram flour, is also called gram flour because there is a common misconception that the wheat used in this type of flour is actually the type of wheat that is used for pasta and bread making. It is not.

The misconception aside, gram flour is a wonderful staple in my kitchen. I have a gram-flour bowl on our holiday table. It is so easy to use it is always in my kitchen and it can be used for all sorts of things.
