Taco Bueno is a restaurant chain that specializes in Tex-Mex style cuisine. It was founded by Glen W. Bell, Jr., who opened the first location in Abilene, Texas on November 19th, 1967. The company’s headquarters are located at Farmers Branch, Texas and as of September 3rd, 2019, there were 150 locations around the United States operating. Taco Bueno offers a variety of food options including tacos, burritos, fajitas, and quesadillas with many different types of meat to choose from like beef or chicken. Taco Bueno’s slogan is “Yes, We Have Tacos!”

Taco Bueno has tried to expand their menu by adding items like salads and nachos.

The company offers a loyalty program through the website called MyTacoBueno that allows customers to earn points for each purchase made at Taco Buenos.

Taco Bueno also offers catering services.

The chain employs over 14,000 people as of September 2019 and is still under the ownership of Glen W. Bell owns more than 98% of the company’s stock.

In 1985 Taco Bueno tried to change their menu by adding items like burgers which failed miser.

For years Taco Bueno was known for their tacos including tacos burritos fajitas and quesadillas which included many different types of meat like beef or chicken but they have also tried expanding their menu by adding dishes such as salads.

Taco Bueno was founded by Glen W. Bell in 1967 and the first Taco Bueno restaurant opened up on December 16, 1967, in Abilene, Texas. In 1969 they became one of many restaurants to offer franchises which led to a rapid expansion of their drive-thru operations with over 40 locations being open for business at any given time during that decade.

As Taco Bueno expanded its menu it began introducing new items such as tacos al pastor which is made from pork or beef cooked using a vertical spit-roasting technique where meat is cut off the rotating spit so that it falls into warm corn tortillas just before serving. The company also created burritos stuffed with potatoes instead of rice called Tater Burrito Bowls.

Taco Bueno is also known for its wide variety of Mexican-style iced teas as well as other beverages such as fountain sodas.

It took until 1983 for new construction of restaurants to be completed which led to an expansion of locations into Oklahoma City and Tulsa Oklahoma as well as Houston Texas by 1985. In 1995 Taco Bueno became part of Rave Restaurant Group when they merged with Pillsbury who had bought out J.W Childs; it wasn’t long before their menu expanded beyond just Tex Mex food adding Mexican style salads such as Mexican Style Cobb Salad or Fiesta Rice called Tater Burrito.

The company, which had changed hands a few times by then, was acquired by the current owner in 2000. By this point, Taco Bueno became a popular spot for families and kids with all kinds of Tex Mex food to be enjoyed. It’s not surprising that they made it their mission to keep everything affordable even though the menu has grown for a long time.

Taco Bueno has locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. As of September 2019, Taco Bueno had 150 units open for business with plans to keep expanding over the next few years to more states as well.
