the squirrel sat on a tree branch for as long as I could see him. I was standing on a lawn chair in my backyard having a cigarette one summer evening. I had already finished my cigarette, I was smoking it, and was now starting another. I was very close to lighting my cigarette but I hesitated. I did not know if I should just wait for the squirrel or if I wanted to run for my life.
The same principle applies to the squirrel. If you have a problem with something, you should either not do it or at least decide to deal with it later. If you’re not going to deal with it, you should at least figure out what you’re going to do about it. You don’t know when the time is right for the squirrel to sit on the tree, so you should either wait for the moment or, better yet, just run.
